| Welcome to NomadicPlanet! | |

During the day, I am employed as a Product Manager at Google. Born, raised, and educated in Saskatchewan, Canada and now living in the San Francisco Bay area, I've spent the last decade traveling throughout Canada, the U.S., Asia, Australia, Europe, South America and Africa for both work and pleasure. Travel is as much a passion as photography. As always, thanks to my brother Jeff for significant creative consulting in the development of this site. Enjoy the photos! I'd love to hear what you think. |

| How long have you been doing this? | |

I was in Turkey in the spring of 1998. On an all night bus from Istanbul to Cappadocia, I met a traveler who was a very serious photographer. For the rest of the trip, with my point and shoot in hand, I followed him across Turkey as he sought out interesting vantages. Then, my tiny camera died. Recognizing that I really enjoyed it, I upgraded when I returned to North America. Eight years later, it is still a huge passion. |

| What kind of equipment do you use? | |
|
I shoot digital when I can, but I still prefer the dense color saturation that comes with slide film. Regardlesss of film or digital, virtually all of the images on this site have been Photoshopped. Nothing too significant, but if they came off film they were scanned and corrected to recalibrate the colors back to the original image. In general, I will touch up the contrast and brightness and sharpen them a bit. I try not to alter them all that significantly. |

Photoblogs.org has a great set of links. While you are there, add nomadicplanet.com as a favorite! |

| Do you have a favorite photo? | |
|
I don't really have a single favourite photo. Some of my favorites are in the 'highlights' gallery. I think I tend to like images with subtle colors, good light, and symmetry. |

NomadicPlanet showcases the Travel Photography of Jordan Breckenridge. The site is in its 4th major revision since when it first went live in 1999. The site looks and feels dramatically different, not just because of the technology has evolved, but also because the photographs have improved. Thousands and thousands of photographs later, this is my place on the web.
I shoot a Canon EOS-3 (film), a Canon 5D (digital) and a Canon SD450 (digital point and shoot). My lenses include a Canon 17-35 F2.8, Canon 50mm F1.8, Canon 70-200 F2.8 and Canon 70-200 F4.0 for travelling. When I'm shooting film, I prefer Fuji Velvia. All film is scanned using a Nikon Super Coolscan 2000 35mm film scanner.
